Creating a tin

Post by Cathal Hayes »

Hi,
I am trying to create a tin of a paved area so that I can work out levels at Gully positions etc.
I have created a number of alignment strings and have added VIPs.
I then created a tin,
however the tin appears to triangulate only between the VIPs. I had assumed that it would recognise the sloping alingment strings between VIPs and use these strings for triangulation.
It appears to work fine on flat strings with triangles at regular intervals.
Am I doing something wrong?

Firstly, check to make certain that the segments are tinable. Secondly, check the chainage interval, if it is greyed out it means that it isn't set. Try setting it to a value of 5 or even 2. Keep in mind though, that the smaller the chainage increment the more vertices it will have and the more triangles it will have. This can be detrimental to the Tin. Also make sure the Tin is set to use breaklines.
