Kinematic Wave , Rational method

Post by ali v »

Hi ,
I want to use kinematic wave for my drainage analysis. I have figured out that 12d divides catchments into impervious and pervious parts and for previous part I have to assign C minor and major . I have already checked QUDM and AUSTroad manuals. These manuals provide C values for whole catchments( For example Qudm suggests using 0.9 for C10 in Central business areas). I was wondering if 12d use the C value to calculate runoff from the whole catchment or use it just for pervious part? If it uses these values for just the pervious part, what values do I have to use?

If you don't wish to divide a catchment into impervious and pervious fractions (which is supported as a convenience), you can set the %Impervious to 0% or 100%. If you set it to 0%, you only use the pervious fraction and can set Cp=C values on an explicit/default basis. If you set it to 100%, you only use the impervious fraction and can set Ci=C values on a global basis only, which is less flexible.

(Many quoted C values have a percent impervious built into them.)
