Re: Colours.4d Definitions and Data Export

I have suggested the following fix to the programmers: never automatically change the colour name or colour number of any colour specified with an rgb(rrr, ggg, bbb) colour name. Good. That sounds like a much better fix (he says not thinking about the possible far-reaching ramifications of such a cha...

Re: Colours.4d Definitions and Data Export

It's annoying. I think 12d will match and re-map the colour if the RGB values match a defined colour exactly . I've had some success in the past with adjusting the colours to be off 1 the typical value, e.g. rgb(0, 0, 254). Not a perceptible difference and unlikely someone has "blue" defin...

Re: ADD TINABLE INTERVALS TO SECTION STRING

I believe you might want to change the chainage interval of your section strings (i.e. reduce it to less than the distance between vertices). 12d Model should then sample at points between vertices along the segment (assuming it's a breakline). Utilities->Super strings->Chainage interval is probably...

Re: PPF Plot formatting into AUTOCAD

Make sure you're running V14C2k or V15C1a. In order to align each section sub-plot in a regular grid, you're effectively either asking them to all be the same size or the insertion points to be at a fixed interval. If you open the Section X Plot PPF Editor and select the Plot parameters branch on th...

Re: Hydro File Error

As I understand it, the IFD tables provided by the BoM are listed per AEP (Annual Exceedance Probability). 12d Model requires this to be expressed in ARI (Average Recurrence Interval) instead. See also this: http://www.bom.gov.au/water/designRainfalls/#sec1q5 Basically, you need to edit your IFD row...

Re: RE: Exporting Design into asc format.

You might need to ask them for a bit more information about what they mean when they say "ascii format". Technically, ASCII is a character encoding and not a format. Some people can use it to mean a plain-text format (i.e. readable in a text editor, not binary). However, they most likely m...

Re: RE: File access error - 12d output

What do you mean "output my 12d models"? Do you mean export to a 12da/12daz file from within 12d Model? Copy models from another project? Or actually copying and pasting the .model files in your .project folder? My first check in either case when getting a "File access error" wou...

Re: 12daLibrary

USER_LIB is a variable that can be changed and customised to suit your needs. By default, it will be C:\12d\14.00\User_lib . You could, if you want, set it to a network shared drive location that everyone can access. I'd suggest reading the 12d Help file, particularly the section about Setting Up &a...

Re: Copy project folder to new location without link to the first

The only things I can think of that would still be linked back to the original project would be: A shortcut file (*.lnk), which is created when the project is first created (and so probably still points to the old project)- can be deleted Sharing data - did you add any shared models or tins to the p...

Re: View size default & Grids and Contours defaults _ Colours, sizes and intervals etc.

As far as I know, there's no way to explicitly set some of those default settings. They're just defaults inherent in 12d and have been for many years (decades?). The method suggested by Robert is how I'd do things, too. Can run them at startup or via toolbar/menus. If you want them to be consistent ...

Re: TIN Flow Arrows - Head Size / Ratio

Any more ideas anyone? A Feature request to 12D coming up?? If you can't find an existing macro, writing a macro (or getting one written) would be the easiest. Put a custom symbol in each triangle in the direction of the downward slope. Would be slow for large tins, but symbols would let you do wha...

Which style is being used?

Note that the Text ControlBar only shows the style name and the height. You need to click on the Aa button and select Edit to see all current textstyle settings.
