What format are the .asc files ?

The file extension is just .ASC so not exactly sure. The data appears to be for a grid - when you open this it looks like this;
ncols 2000
nrows 2000
xllcorner 326000.000
yllcorner 6246000.000
cellsize 1.0000
nodata_value -9999
33.264 33.289 33.347 33.427 ...

Importing Sydney LIDAR Data (*.asc) Query

I am trying to import some LIDAR for Sydney that we were supplied with. The file extension is *.asc and some corresponding 1kb sized *.TAB files were included. Each of the .asc files are around 27MB.

I have tried importing each of these files as ASCII, and 12D appears to process the data (takes a ...
