It is on the 12d model YouTube channel and shows what the program is capable of.
I haven't used Civil 3d before, so I cannot comment on how they compare. Perhaps someone else can comment on how they compare.

I thought visualisation was for textures, billboards and that. I don't believe I have the visualisation function but I can still see both sides of the tin in openGL, and pipes too.
