Are you saving to dwt?
Acad will only save dwt to the current Acad version. However there is no difference in dwt vs dwg so just save as 2007 dwg and manually rename to dwt.

You can get this error if the dongle driver has not been installed. Is 12D a new install or first time your running it on this PC? It could be that you need to remove the apply many's polygon models from your tin?

Could try designing the boxing (apply many and decisonal templates) rather than using a boxing template.
