A super tin is a dynamic way of merging two tins for many 12d Model options without having to go through a full merge. So for example if you doing an Apply , Apply Many , End Area Volumes then a super tin will act as a merge of the two tins. If you want to do a full merge of two tins and produce one...

Ryan,

You need to work through the Getting Started for Design manual first. In can be downloaded from the web site http://www.12d.com. In it there are sections on templates and variable cut and fill tables which can be easily used to created berms as you require.

Chris,

For V8 and the super alignment, we used chord-to-arc tolerances for both horizontal and vertical geometry. It will also pick up the crest and sag points.

For more accurate modelling it was essential to look at what was happening in both the horizontal and the vertical.

What sort of string are you using to apply the templates to ?

If it has vertices every 10 metres then you will get sections at each vertex and hence every 10 metres.

Is it only around corners ?
If so then it will be the chord-to-arc tolerance that is causing extra sections to be created.

In that case you don't use a super tin.

Just add all the tins onto a section view and when you select a string to profile then it will show the section through all the different tins.

What do you mean by a number of tin surfaces ?

Are you trying to get sections through say natural surface, top of rock, bottom of rock etc ?

Or is it one tin as a combination of a number of tins and a Super Tin will work as suggested by Phil ?
