You cannot edit data shared into a project. You must open the source project (or copy the shared data locally).

The datum value is automatically calculated for you, based on the data being plotted, and a few parameters on the following branches of the PPF Editor: Boxes/Centreline labels=>Common parameters Boxes/Centreline labels=>Boxes=>Datum lines Boxes/Centreline labels=>Centreline=>Datum lines If you want ...

Okay, instead of typing in a relative coordinate, you can type in a bearing & distance, with "bd 90 50". This will give the same square with 100m sides.

I'd use the CAD Polygon tool Circumscribed:

Specify "4" sides and then type in a point relative to the centre with "r 50 0", for a square with 100m sides.

If you leave the DNE panel up as much as possible (rather than closing it), it may help. This will minimise the number of DNE sessions. In V10 the prompt can only be dismissed for the duration of the DNE session.

My understanding is that as long as the projection is defined in Arc, you can easily nominate it there, and Arc will create the .prj file it needs.

Unless you have received this drainage model from someone else and did not also receive their drainage.4d file, you should always say "update from drainage.4d".

This prompt will be less recurrent in V11.

Yes, PPFs are typically upwards compatible in release versions. I agree that we should add a note to the manual, about the ascii to binary conversion, for those people using the practise version. The data installed with the practise version is the same as the release version I think. Most people usi...

Are you using the practise version? The format of PPFs are different (intentionally) between the practise and release versions. Until you have a release version at your disposal, it is not worth doing too much work modifying PPFs. You can create your own PPF in the practise version, but you will not...

John, do you mean page 219? Page 209 is only about quick plotting, not PPF plotting. I just Read the installed file C:\12d\10.00\Training\design\getting started basic\Long Sections.lplotppf into the Section Long Plot PPF Editor , and it looked just like the manual. Works the same in V9 as in V10. Ow...

I mean if you save a PPF in the practise version, you cannot use it in the release version. But yes, it looks the same to the user from a GUI point of view.

The smooth tick-box works by creating data (extra vertices on the contour strings), whereas I think Rachael is looking to smooth by removing noise from the source data. As Ed has already said, the Grid Tin could well offer a good solution here, as (if I recall correctly) it samples the data around e...

Also, don't bother making too many changes to plot parameter files (PPFs) in the practise version, as the format is different between the practise and release versions. By design, they are not interchangeable.

The HGL levels can be set in a number of ways, including via the DNE's storm analysis modules. But the HGL is merely a component of the Drainage string, and has no current property settable for linestyle. (Indeed, changing the linestyle of a Drainage string has no effect either.) It is not until you...

You can only do it in the Drainage LS Plot (see Graph area branch of PPF editor), not in a section view.

In a section view, you can only change the colour of the HGL (see view's menu Settings=>Drainage).
