Legend option is really really old

It will not pick up line weights or symbols.

The old Alignment string is only an IP method string.... you will loose all your element info.

may be try joining your super_alignments first
edit and delete those element parts you don't want

I guess you would be using these:
Strings =>Create =>Super alignment =>Split

Strings =>Create =>Super alignment =>Join

TINing contour data is always little difficult. Your best solution is to obtain 3d Triangles you can TIN. Or get the 3d data used to create those contours.
