Model names must be unique. You can; + rename the models like DES SECT1, DES SECT2, DES SECT3.... in the parent project or + rename the model as it is attached / shared to each other project (there are fields for this on top of the share model panel) I have tried both and prefer #1. Its less work an...

If using v10 (?) and depending on your 12d configuration deleted models are sent to the Trash bin until purged. I think that is the default.

therwise deleting a model is the equivalent of deleting a file from disc. Will need to look at your backup.

Steve hunter has answered this query a few times on the DESIGN forum.

But you will have incomplete mtf commands - open the mtf in notepad (etc) and look for a line that looks like only the initial stuff you get when inserting a command

I think that contour smooth ticbox did nothing much on lidar data becuase the numberr of points (trias) is massive so mathematically doing some averaging over many points close together doesnt do much.

Using v10 I expect (well think) that one of the grid tin options would do what you want

Basically 12D need a little lag time after each fiddle with the dwg format to catch up with whatever autodesk changes. Its all proprietary/secret stuff so they dont help you out.

the columns are deliminated with something. usually a tab (but could also be a ,.| etc)

Im guessing that you have opened a TEXT file in some word processing app?

Open with a (good) text editor - notepad is a minimum. Excel should be fine too.

I think that is hardwired. Anotherway to think of 3.255% is 1:0.03255 if that adds 'accuracy' If really really want it, under Project =>Management =>Defaults there is a disp & box precision field. These dont apply to the section view but you could do measures to get the 3.25554000 (traili...

Thanks Guys, as Lucien says, having the output window not show any output will kind of kill off this idea, unless one of the 4dm tutes is how to add a simple panel to display debug data...... not feeling confident about that will be flying fairly blind most times I suspect ..... Hopefully i dont hav...

4dm & Practice version

Given the limitation of the practice version in not allowing any outputs, is it suitable to hack/learn 4dm on?

Aside from string edits which it shold be OK with, Im only interested in output to output window, will it fly?
