It is not currently possible using the Arcview SHP option inside 12d. The projection information for a Arc Shapefile format (SHP) is stored in an optional and additional file with a .prj extension. This file is simply the projection parameters in the Well Known Text (WKT) format. If you are working ...

You could also combine the sharing models with a duplicate data step to get the same result as Copy project models. Might be easier to create in a chain. Just throwing ideas out there. No macro calls for sharing, so we/you/not me would have to probably work with the panel anyway, which you may as we...

No, there is no way to repeat the last command, but many of the commands in 12d will continue running until cancelled. For example, the Cad 2 point line keeps running until you Cancel it. That's even faster and easier than hitting a key to repeat the last command. As always, check out what 12d is do...

The Auto Recalc Mode for a Function sets a flag for that function that defines whether it can be recalced automatically. The recalc is done from the Recalc All option (Utilities->Recalc->Recalc All). That panel re-runs all functions that have had their auto recalc flag set. There is an additional o...

Ok, that screenshot looks good and is basically what you're aiming for. Aha, this is what I was fundamentally missing and didn't realise, even though this is the method I wrote of using in CivilCad! Putting a gutter/footpath/batter template on the kerb string achieved what I wanted too. Effectively,...

You're almost there. As with most things in 12d, there's usually more than one way to do it, so I'll just explain how I would do it. Assuming your cul-de-sac alignment has full horizontal and vertical geometry on it, I would create an Apply Many function for just the cul-de-sac string. The Apply Man...
Not sure about the videos, but the Getting Started course notes are available in PDF from the 12d website:

Your local 12d distributor may still have an old V8 DVD lying around somewhere.

A few tips that may help: Delete any unnecessary models Once you've got an existing surface tin, you may be able to delete the models of survey data used to create that tin. That's assuming you no longer need the survey data. For any Apply Many function, increase the chainage interval and the chord/...

Well, you could try deleting the file used to store the Recent Projects list. It is stored in the %APPDATA% folder of your computer and is called Recent Projects.4d . You can simply type in %APPDATA% in the address bar of Windows Explorer and hit Enter and it will jump to the correct location. Delet...

Anthon, we currently only provide an English language interface for our 12d Model software. This is largely due to most of our clients being in English-speaking countries and the additional work in developing and maintaining non-English translations. As you can imagine, translating all of the 12d fe...

This post here deals with development environments for 12d macros: http://forums.12dmodel.com/viewtopic.php?t=1846 A matter of personal preference in terms of IDE chosen and used. Code::Blocks, Notepad++ and Visual Studio all seem to be common. I don't believe you can compile macros with the Practis...
