You probably need to be a little more specific when you pose a question. If you've created an alignment it should already have chainages applied. Do you want to edit the start chainage or apply a chainage to a particular point or label the chainages or produce a plot displaying the chainages?

Eric, Not quite sure what else to suggest. Although, it appears from your latest screen shot that you are in the middle of a tentative line selection. did you accept the selection? That should display your chosen section. Try turning off all the tins in your section view and just profile the section...
