Converting Trimble .fxl Code Table to .mapfile

Post by Dan Harkness »

Hi,

I have a .flx file from Trimble with all predefined survey codes including colours and line types etc.. is there anyway I can convert this to .mapfile without having to individually change the colours and point and line weights within 12d.

Any help would be great.

I am able to copy the names and codes over manually pretty comfortably but unable to copy the other attributes.

thanks

fxl is an XML file, you could use a stylesheet to convert it to a table
you could also open it in Excel and the featurecode definitions will be there, just quite far to the right from like column ES and may be 1000s of rows down
I would just search for a known code to get to that section faster
that is just a rearrange task

but xslt is probably easier to use
(the attached will generate a table that would be best copied to excel and sorted to be in whatever order you need, add * where needed, replace linetype names with linestyle etc)

Thanks for that. Having it excel seems to makes it much more workable.
