Importing Sydney LIDAR Data (*.asc) Query

I am trying to import some LIDAR for Sydney that we were supplied with. The file extension is *.asc and some corresponding 1kb sized *.TAB files were included. Each of the .asc files are around 27MB.

I have tried importing each of these files as ASCII, and 12D appears to process the data (takes a few minutes to import), but no models are created.

Does anyone have any tips for how I can bring these files into 12D to create a surface?

What format are the .asc files ?

If you are using the Practice Version you will blow the limit with Lidar data.

Hi Lee,
The file extension is just .ASC so not exactly sure. The data appears to be for a grid - when you open this it looks like this;
ncols 2000
nrows 2000
xllcorner 326000.000
yllcorner 6246000.000
cellsize 1.0000
nodata_value -9999
33.264 33.289 33.347 33.427 33.507 33.588........

Also Peter, I'm using a fully licensed version of 12D - I just posted this up in the wrong spot.

Try the option File->Data Input->DEM

You might have to play around with some of the options to get what you want.
