Label heights relative to alignment

Hi

Does anyone know of a way to label heights tangential to their alignment?

The purpose is just to label kerb heights etc for a detail survey and align them to the string while remaining upright.

The only way I can find is to use label chainages but the text values will go upside down with the string meaning I have to split strings at 180°and use a different textile data type.
