RE: Exporting Design into asc format.

I've been working with an engineer from Tuflow on another project regarding flood modelling. I managed to export into 4da/12d ascii file. They need our design tin in asc format. The file extension is ASC.Having trouble exporting our design tin into ASC format (.asc)

Any assistance is much appreciated.

You might need to ask them for a bit more information about what they mean when they say "ascii format". Technically, ASCII is a character encoding and not a format. Some people can use it to mean a plain-text format (i.e. readable in a text editor, not binary). However, they most likely mean an ESRI ArcView ASCII DEM format, so look under the File I/O->Data output->DEMs menu. Note that there are a different versions of this, so even then it might not be what they want. Refer to the 12d Help for those options for more details.

Thanks Matthew for getting back. Will ask them more details regarding the ASC format. '[/quote] from his email ' ..try exporting the 12d tin surface to ASC format instead of using the 4da format.
