Creating a Tin from an IFC file
I was hoping there was a way to create a tin from an IFC file I have received?

Re: Creating a Tin from an IFC file
It's completely dependent on what the IFC contains and how it is structured.
Assuming that you want to extract the top of a trimesh object once the IFC file has been imported, use the "BIM>Trimesh>Convert>Top/bottom tin from trimeshes" option. Be careful to note that tins follow stricter rules than trimesh, the main one being that no X,Y point can have multiple Z values. This means if your selection has things like overlapping trimeshes or vertical walls, the resulting tin will have issues. You may be able to resolve this by filtering the selection and creating multiple tins, and then super tinning them together. Sometimes this isn't so bad to do and other times it can require a lot of manual splitting/filtering of the trimesh to get valid geometry from a tin conversion.
