Re: Convert Super Alignment to Super String - Null Points
In any case, we've managed to work out a process with a bit of help from Richard, the process ended up being: - Use 'Utilities > A-G > Convert > Convert' to convert superalignments to super strings - Use 'Utilities > H-Z > Null heights > Null to height' to change null heights to -999 - Use 'Utilitie...

Re: Convert Super Alignment to Super String - Null Points
Thanks Graeme, I think there's something in that, about the SA geometry, it only seems to happen when we've got a superalignment referencing another superalignment, must be a very minor disconnect in there with the conversion function. I've also got one simple SA that I converted, and it has N/A poi...

Re: Convert Super Alignment to Super String - Null Points
The aim of this is to remove the null point from the string, and keep the rest of the string intact. I've read the exported IFC file back into 12d afterwards, and it also shows the point trailing off to infinity, so it's not really a Navis issue. Had a chat with Richard and tried a few things, but s...

Convert Super Alignment to Super String - Null Points
Hi all, Has anyone had issues with converting superalignments to super strings, and sometimes getting null points appearing at the start or end? Vertex appears in a long section profile as “N/A, 0m”. This is causing issues for us when we export to IFC via a chain, as Navisworks shows a line going do...

Re: Colours.4d Definitions and Data Export
Thanks for the replies everyone, a lot of useful insight here. On the comment of using the 12d file or the SUI colours, I agree that ideally no one would change the colours.4d file and would use the 12d default. Unfortunately with these bigger projects it's very easy to get caught between various co...

Colours.4d Definitions and Data Export
Hi all, We are having some issues with colour definitions in 12d (V14), particularly with export to other formats. For a particular utilities project, we have a set of colours defined in a custom colours.4d file, that we add to all 12d projects. The colours are defined in the .4d by utility name and...

String/Model Comparison Tools
Hi there, I'm trying to run a comparison of models/strings to determine how complete the second is compared to the first, and not sure if it's something that 12d can do easily. The problem we're looking at is that we have a DESIGN model in the project, and then we receive AS CON survey data of the c...

Re: Drape Alignment not draping end points
We're exporting to multiple formats, IFC, 12dxml, SHP, DXF, plus a few others converted from these (too many formats if you ask me). I think the IFC is fine but some of the other had their size blown way out when the data was added (in the order of 100s of MBs, which isn't massive, but for regular t...

Drape Alignment not draping end points
Hi, I'm having an issue using the Drape Alignment function, wondering if I might be able to get a bit of help. I'm working on a large model of existing utilities for a project, and we've just had a whole lot of data (approx. 2000 strings) added in without any vertical geometry, so we're assuming a s...

LS Plan Plotting / Super Elevation Diagram
I'm working on a design for about 10km of rural road, and I'm attempting to use the LS PPF Plan Plotting function to plot plan views alongside the long sections, to reduce drafting. So far it's been working fine for the most part, but recently the fill depth hatch I created to mark the road extents ...

Re: Plotting Water Network Attributes on Long Sections
Hi Owen,
I can't believe I've never seen that option in there, sitting in plain sight.
Thanks, worked like a charm.

Plotting Water Network Attributes on Long Sections
I'm having a bit of trouble getting our user mapped attributes on water network strings to plot on a long section as service crossing labels. We are plotting a long section along a super alignment, and at each crossing with another service, we’re using Cuts to plot a label stating the type and diame...
