The number of displayed colours is controlled by the project defaults - to get to this panel go to Project > Management > Defaults The number of colours displayed is on the System tab http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc416/hunterjagter/12d_no_of_colours_zps2e81d714.png Once you change it to your ...

Michael, under the same menu location in 12D is "Paste Parameters" - you need to set this to 2013 64bit

You will also need to set the Copy Parameters to AutoCAD 2013 to get data going in the other direction working.

Sorry, misinterpreted what you meant by "windows 7 driver", and the microsoft link does not give a clue as to the filename you mentioned... silly question, but are you using Windows 7 or 8?

Windows 7 does not read the old hlp file format that 12D V10 uses - you need to install a Windows patch:

You have to have the "use anonymous functions for file inputs" ticked (a grey tick like in my screen grab, means it is turned on by default), to get imported data to automatically be added to a view. Untick it, and you will not get any model data added to the view. Why do you not want a re...

The two are linked - 12D uses the data contained in the read function to display it in a view (to show you what you read in). You may find it simpler to keep the read function enabled, but set an actual view for the data to be shown in (something like Preview Data Import), so you don't keep getting ...

In addition to Marc's method (thanks Marc, I never knew that option existed either): Assuming you have some form of grade correction to consider (Minimum and Maximum Crossfalls), another feature to look at is the road widening macro under Design > Roads > More > Road Widening. It will not generate a...

Hannah, is this the type of issue you are describing, when trimming two overlapping design elements?

Intersecting at angles is always ugly - you can usually trim on one side (using your fixed remove), but like you say on the other you wind up with steps, because you wind up trimming the inside strings before the next. You can always remove the resultant steps with width modifiers to push the string...

Hi Kieran If you click on the folder icon by the range file field in the "Tin Height with Colour" panel, then select [Open], a blank range file will open for you to fill your values into. The file itself is pretty simple in content - If you save the code below to a hrf file, you will get a...

Under File IO > Layout input, it will list all the screen layout files you have created.

The Replace / Append is only presented when you save a screen layout file to the same name. It basically writes the dialog panel information of the second panel below the first.

Is it possible you are referring to a screen layout file instead of a dialog default? Instead of selecting "default", select "dump". http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/2884/screenlayoutfiledwg.png When you create the second panel for the longsection defaults, select "Append"...
