Drainage network editor not reading road design file

I have set up a road design file in the drainage network editor but when I 'Set the Pit Detail', the 12d does not automatically calculate the crossfall and longituidnal grade. What could cause this?

One possible reason:

You also need to specify a bypass/overland flow model. Without it, the software considers that there is no point calculating the road grades and xfalls (which are only used to determine the captured and bypassing flows at on-grade pits).
