Was hoping someone could help me.
I want to copy my current 12d project so that I can design another option utilising the bulk of the design of the 1st option.
I have tried the copy project and rename project, but it doesn't seem to be doing what I want.
With other software I used in the past I could just copy the folder and rename it say "option 2" I tried that, but it still refers to the original project. Hope I got across what I want to do.
Thanks for your help.
Copying a 12d project
Re: Copying a 12d project
you can do that but what you need to rename is the project FOLDERRowan Demmer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 09, 2025 9:29 am With other software I used in the past I could just copy the folder and rename it say "option 2" I tried that, but it still refers to the original project. V15_tm_to_tin.project
rename it to
V15_tm_to_tin_option_2.project
spaces must be changed to underscores...
or use the SPLASH screen and recent list of projects... there are 3 vertical Dots which give you a menu and one of the options is COPY
you can't have the project opened if you want to copy it...

Re: Copying a 12d project
The shortcut within the working folder that you would use to open the project will also need to be updated, assuming you want that to work. If you're only using the 12d launcher to open the project then it's not necessary, but I would probably update the shortcut anyway to avoid the possibility of opening it via the shortcut and it opening the original project.
1 - needs to reference the new .project folder
2 - needs to point to the folder that contains the .project folder
