Generated Contours without Bubbles

Post by Mel Arquiza »

I have an existing dxf file contours and I have create a tin by triangulation using 12d when I generated the contours from the tin result contours got bubbles and not smooth? Even I press remove bubbles in the option the result of the contours is not right? Is there another way of doing this?

TINing contour data is always little difficult.

Your best solution is to obtain 3d Triangles you can TIN.
Or get the 3d data used to create those contours.

If you can’t do that try adding some breaklines to stop this from happening.
It might take a little while to resolve if your TIN is over a really flat country. Doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue on hill jobs.

I have used Super string chainage interval with some limited success …
It will increase the number of triangles created and might give you a better result.

Strings =>Properties =>Super strings =>Chainage interval

As said you best bet is to get 3d Triangle data.

What do you mean by "not right".
Do you have a picture of the trinagls and contours ?
